Anartia fatima is a non-resident in North America but migratory into southern Texas, once recorded as far north as Kansas. It ranges south to Panama and perhaps to S. Amer. (Scott 1986). Habitats are subtropical open areas and disturbed places. Host plants are herbaceous and restricted to a few species in one family, Acanthaceae. Eggs are laid haphazardly, on or near the host plant, singly. There are multiple flights all year in Texas but absent in some years (Scott 1986).
