North American Ecology (US and Canada)

Chlosyne definita is resident in southern New Mexico and s. Texas, and ranges south to s. Mexico (Scott 1986). Habitats are lower Sonoran zone shrubby desert hills and subtropical thorn forest. Known host plant is the herbaceous species Stenandrium barbatum (Acanthaceae). There are multiple flights each year with the approximate flight time Apr.1-Oct.31. (Scott 1986).
