Range Description

This species is known from Magdalena (Santa Marta) in Colombia (Perreira and Martínez 1956), with the locality referring to an isolated mountain range (Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta) in the northern part of the country. As a result, the species is geographically highly restricted ranging from 1,600 to 1,700 m (Noriega et al. 2007), and the extent of occurrence, based on the extent of the mountain range, is estimated as no more than 2,000 km2. The area of occupancy is likely to be much smaller and will be the area wet forest habitat on the mountain.
