Onthophagus

Onthophagus is a genus of dung beetles in the Onthophagini tribe of the wider scarab beetle family, Scarabaeidae.[2] The name derives from the Greek onthos, meaning dung, and phagos, meaning eater.[3]

It includes around 2000 species, distributed globally.[1] Species include Onthophagus coenobita, Onthophagus gazella and Onthophagus taurus.
