Cryptococcus neoformans

C. neoformans is a possibly pathogenic fungal microorganism. They produce prominent capsules which aid in the evasion of host defenses. C. neoformans commonly infects the tissue of the respiratory system, but can manifest as a fungal encephalitis as well. It's method of entry is commonly via the respiratory route.
