Macrohabitat: Lowlands to uplands, 128 – 1829 meters altitude, in wet places
such as marshes, margins of pools and ponds. Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling at
margins of cold ponds and pools with margins of exposed or shaded substrate that is soft,
wet, and muddy, and with bare spots surrounded by moss-carpets. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous,
capable of flight; slow runners. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in
May – August. Behavior: Adults are mostly diurnal and active in the sunshine; they take cover
during cloudy or cool periods in moss. Adults hibernate.
