Range Description

Magnolia betongensis is native to South East Asia,occurringin Peninsular Thailand (Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala and in Pattani), Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. In Peninsular Malaysia, it is more common in the north and has been recorded from Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor. It usually occurs at low altitudes and rarely up to 1,700 m asl. The synonym Magnolia liliifera var. obovata has been described from Nepal, India (Assam), Bhutan, Indonesia.
