Range Description

This species is endemic to the New River drainage system, from the upper reaches of Greenbrier River, Pocahontas and Monroe counties, West Virginia, south through Virginia to Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga counties, North Carolina, USA (Hobbs 1989). The extent of occurrence of this species is estimated to exceed 15,900 km.
