Range Description

Endemic to the Bahaman Archipelago. The variety occurs in two countries, Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). In the Bahamas it is found on the islands of: Grand Bahama, Abaco, New Providence and Andros in the north of the archipelago. Pine occurrence in Abaco covers Little Abaco and Great Abaco; in Andros covers North Andros, South Andros and Mangrove Cay. Pine does not occur in Great Inagua, and it is uncertain if it had any natural populations of it in the past. In the Turks and Caicos Islands the variety is found on the islands of: Pine Cay, North Caicos and Middle Caicos.

Primary forests only remain in the Turks and Caicos Islands and on the islands of Little Abaco and South Andros in the Bahamas.
