Range Description

This species is found in the western tributaries of the Tennessee River from RobinsonCreek northward to Snake Creek in HardinCounty, and in the Forked Deer, Hatchie, and Loosahatchie drainage systems in Tennessee, USA (Bouchard and Bouchard 1976) . In addition, several specimens from headwaters of the Little Tallahatchie River drainage in the Yazoo basin) and the Town Creek drainage in the Tombigbee basin,. both in Mississippi, have been tentatively assigned to this species based on morphology and preliminary genetic analyses (Adams 2008). Thus, to date, this species has been collected from Alcorn, Benton, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union Counties, Mississippi (Adams 2008), and may also be present in Lee and Marshall Counties.
The Extent of Occurrence (EOO) of this species has been estimated to exceed 23,200 km2
