Biology

Macrohabitat: Lowlands, 35-500 meters altitude, in moist grasslands. Microhabitat: Adults are ground-dwelling on moist substrate with grassy patches. Dispersal abilities: Macropterous, primarily cursorial and fast running; adults rarely fly. Seasonal occurrence: Adults are active in May-September. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, taking cover during the day at the base of dense grass clumps. Adults are often attracted to lights at night. (Naviaux, 2007; Data from NMNH collection)
