Description of Hyalodiscus

Medium (up to 150 µm or so) sized amoebae, from soils, with cytoplasm located usually in a hump and with a leading flattened lamellipodium from which fine pseudopodia emerge. Distinctive warty surface. Consuming algae, eggs of rotifers and cysts of ciliates.
