On Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Colonies. After 10 days growth ranges from 8-9.35 cm length, with a mean ñ SD = 8.56 ñ 1.06; aerial mycelium floccose, pastel pink with dark red pigmentation; mycelium producing globose, smooth "chlamydospores" sparsely, singly or in chains. Notes. This speciesgrows on Glycerol Nitrate Agar (G25N) reaching more than 2 cm diam., producing white or pale red aerial mycelium and orange or greyish red pigmentation; growth on mannitol medium is less than 4 cm diam., with pale yellow or gryish yellow mycelium and reddish yellow or orange yellow or yellow pigmentation; growth on Czapek-Dox Iprodione Dichloran Agar (CZID) results in reddish aerial mycelium and pigmentation.
