Chilobrachys fimbriatus is endemic to the Western Ghats of Karnataka and Maharashtra, this species is found in Borivali in the north and Hosahali in the south at an altitudinal range of 200 to 1,200 m. The extent of occurrence encompassing known and inferred distribution is around 35,000 km², while the area of occupancy is considerably less although it has not been estimated.
