This East African species is endemic to the Albertine Rift Valley endemic where it has been recorded from the western and eastern slopes of the Ruwenzori Mountains in Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda, and in the Kivu region in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The species has been recorded from 1,300 to 4,000 m asl.
