Range Description

This species is known only from the holotype collected on Florida Island (= Nggela Sule a land-bridge extension) in the Solomon Islands (Flannery 1995). There is debate about the true locality of this species; it may well be from Makira Island, though we do not map this island. A large Solomys has been recorded from Makira, but was never collected (seen in 1996 by R. James but eaten by a dog).
