Range Description

This species has the most expansive geographic range of any Praomys. It occurs from central Nigeria through Cameroon and Central African Republic to southern Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, northeastern Angola, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and southward through eastern Tanzania to northern and eastern Zambia. There is a recent record of this species from Guinea (Ziegler et al. 2002). It is found from the lowlands up to 3,000 m asl (in Kenya).
