Range Description

This species has been recorded from Senegal and southern Mauritania, through Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Ghana, southern Niger and Benin to northern Nigeria; the eastern range limits are not fully documented and the species may be found in northern Cameroon and Chad, although this needs to be confirmed. The distribution is known to be disjunct. It is a lowland species.

The Hausa mouse (Mus haussa) is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is found in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, and Senegal. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, arable land, rural gardens, and urban areas.
