Range Description

This species is endemic to the Central Cordillera of the island of New Guinea, from the Bele River and Gunung Ki in Papua Province, Indonesia, to Mount Victoria in Papua New Guinea (Flannery 1995). It is sympatric with M. rothschildi, but not with M. aroaensis, which occurs at lower elevations. This species is found between 2,450 and 3,850 m asl.
