Range Description

Pyrilia caica is widespread in northern South America, although not really numerous in any parts of its range (Restall et al. 2006). In east Venezuela it is generally uncommon and has a very local distribution (del Hoyo et al. 1997, Hilty 2003). It occurs from there through Guyana (del Hoyo et al. 1997). It is scarce throughout Suriname, but common in small numbers in interior French Guiana (Restall et al. 2006). The species's range reaches north Brazil, where it extends south as far as the Amazon (del Hoyo et al. 1997).
