Range Description

This species was described from 70 miles northwest of Aus in southern Namibia and occupies a small inland range on the gravel plains that border the south-east edge of the Namib Desert dune field in central Namibia (Harrison et al. 2003). It occurs at moderate altitude in an arid region that may be cooled by coastal mists accounting for the low annual temperature. The estimated extent of occurrence is approximately 14,300 km2, with a much smaller area of occupancy of probably only around 7,500 km2, based on coverage of plains within the known range.
