Range Description

Magnolia baillonii is native to South East Asia and occurs in China (Yunnan), Cambodia, India (Assam), Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam. In Northern Thailand it occurs in Chiang Mai (Doi Suthep, Doi Inthanon, Doi Non Ngao), Chiang Rai (Doi Luang National Park); in Eastern Thailand: Nakhon Ratchasima (Khao Yai National Park), Chaiyaphum (Ban Nam Phrom); Southwestern Thailand: Kanchanaburi (Thong Pha Phum National Park), Phetchaburi (Kaeng Krachan National Park) (Noteboom and Chalermglin 2009).
