Mallotus eriocarpus

Mallotus eriocarpus is a species of plant in the Euphorbiaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.

Leaves[edit]

variable, rhomboid-ovate, rounded base, margins irregularly faintly dentate, softly pubescent.

Trunk[edit]

branches slender, stellate yellow-brown pubescent.

Flowers[edit]

Inflorescence- reddish, axillary spikes.

Fruits[edit]

thickly hairy capsule.

Ecology[edit]

monsoon forest, secondary forests of dry zones of Sri Lanka.
