Global Range: Wagner et al. (1990) call Bobea elatior the most widespread species of this Hawaiian endemic genus. It occurs on the Napali Coast southeastward to Ha'upu Ridge, Kaua'i, on O'ahu (Ko'olau Mountains), Moloka'i, Lana'i, Maui, and is known from 2 collections from the Kohala Mountains, Hawai'i.
