Range Description

Anacamptis palustris is a Eurasian species that occurs in central and southern Europe, the Mediterranean basin, North Africa and western Asia. In the Mediterranean region, it is found in Spain, the Balearic Islands, France, Corsica, Italy, Sicily, Albania, Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Its extent of occurrence covers c. 3,600,000 km2, with more than 49 locations and an AOO <500 km2. It is a widespread and very common species in Turkey. It is found at two locations in Syria and Palestine (Post, 1983). In Cyprus, it is found at six locations:Phini;Limassol; North of Limassol; Asomatos; Akrotiri; near Dhikomo (Meikle, 1977).
