Range Description

Epipactis purpurata is confined to western and central Europe where it occurs north to Denmark, Britain, and the Baltic States, west to France (to a line between Mont St. Michel and Grenoble), and south to the Alps, Balkans and Transylvania in Romania. It has recently been recorded on Mt. Maljen in western Serbia . The species can be found up to 1,500 m asl (Bournérias and Prat 2005, Delforge 1995, Djordjević et. al 2010, GIROS 2009, Harrap and Harrap 2009, Lang 2004, Rossi 2002, The Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 2010).
