Range Description

Cypripedium irapeanum occurs in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. In Mexico the species can be found in Chiapas, Durango, Guerrero, Nayarit, Jalisco, Mexico, Michoacan, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla, Sinaloa and Vera Cruz. The distribution of C. irapeanum is interrupted in Oaxaca from western Mexico south-eastwards, where C. molle occurs, to reappear again at the other side of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Chiapas and Guatemala.The extent of occurrence (EOO) is estimated at 667,000 km and the area of occupancy (AOO) is estimated at 1,100km.The species can be found between 600 and 2,250 m of altitude.
