Seven species of seagrass - Thalassia testudinum, Halodule beaudettei (formerly H. wrightii), Syringodium filiforme, Ruppia maritima, Halophila engelmannii, Halophila decipiens and Halophila johnsonii - occur in the Indian River Lagoon. An illustrated key and guide to their morphology and distribution is presented by Eiseman (1980).
