Bulb is ovoid or subglobose. The outer tunics are membranous, greyish-black, coriaceous and splitting lengthways. The leaves are 3-4, 1-5 mm wide, shorter than the inflorescence, filiform to linear, fistulose, sheathing the lower half of the stem. The spathe is 2-valved and persistent. The valves wide at the base, extended into long slender appendages and longer than the umbel. The umbel is usually subglobose and sometimes somewhat fastigiate laxly to densely-flowered.The pedicels are sub-equal. The perianth narrowly campanulate. Segments are white, usually with a reddish or green mid-vein, oblong or oblanceolate. The anthers sub-exserted. The style exserted. The capsule exsist.
