Range Description

This species is recently described and thought to be restricted to the Marquesas archipelago. It has a depth range of 15-250 m, however, most live specimens are collected at 50-200 m (Moolenbeek et al. 2008, P. Bouchet pers. comm. 2011).

There have been internet reports by some shell traders of the species being found in areas in the Philippines, such as Zamboanga, Jolo Island and Liloan, (Poppe and Poppe 2011). However, these reports are doubtful and require confirmation.
