Justification
This species has a large range and is presumed to have a large population that is not declining at nearly the rate required to qualify as threatened under Criterion A. Assessed as Least Concern. Variety wardii de Laub. & Silba was assessed in 2007 as Data Deficient. This variety and its distribution remain poorly known; there are no herbarium data from Myanmar other than the type specimen on which this taxon was based in 1988.
