Though lacking on details, its essentially correct. The black spot on the chin has also been described as yellowish brown from chin to throat (Davis, 1962).

Although filename notes it as Herpestes javanicus, photographer corrected it in Wikimedia Commons: "Description coreected[sic] as Indian Gray Mongoose or Common Grey Mongoose Herpestes edwardsii in Hyderabad , India."
