Range Description

Tangara johannae is rare to locally fairly common in the Pacific lowlands, from north Antioquia, Colombia, south through north-west Ecuador to Los Ros (Ridgely and Tudor 1989, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001). It has been described as the least numerous Pacific lowland Tangara (Hilty and Brown 1986) but it is common in several areas in Nario, Colombia (Salaman 1994, P.G.W.Salaman in litt. 1999).
