Range Description

This species is known from Santa Cruz (Chiquitos, Guarayos, Ichilo, Buena Vista), La Paz (Caranavi) and Pando (Mapiri) in Bolivia, and from Peru (Schmidt 1922, Perreira and Martinez 1956, F. Vaz-de-Mello and T. Larsen pers. comm. 2013). Its extent of occurrence is estimated as approximately 246,500 km2, with an area of occupancy estimated between 1,600 km2 [overlaying grid of 10 km (100 km2) in size] and 3,600 km2 [overlaying grid of 15 km (225 km2) in size]. This restricted distribution within its extent of occurrence is partly due to the fact that its floodplain forest habitat is very restricted in distribution. The species is currently known from around sixteen localities, suggesting an occurrence in more than ten locations.
