Range Description

This species is confined to the tributaries of the Big, Black and Meramec Rivers in Reynolds and Washington Counties in southeastern Missouri, USA (Williams 1954, Hobbs 1974, Pflieger 1996). This species range has recently been introduced into the St. Francis River drainage, Missouri (Rahm et al. 2005).

The Extent of Occurrence (EOO) of this species has been estimated to exceed 12,800 km2.
