Brief Summary

Read full entry
The common shrimp is of great commercial importance in the Netherlands. Many fishermen in the Wadden Sea, the delta waters and along the North Sea coast specialize in catching shrimp. They are true sand dwellers. Tip: do not look for pink shrimp in the water. They only turn pink when cooked. In the water, they are the same color as the sand. Marine animals also eat shrimp. For example, adult flatfish are crazy about them, while shrimp themselves like to nibble on young flatfish.
