General Description

This is the only species of Clivina that occurs in Alberta. Similar to Dyschirius in habitus, but larger. Piceous or brown, head and elytra often reddish, antennae and legs bright red. First pro-tarsal segment with dentiform prominence. Basal lateral tooth of pro-tibia rudimentary or disappeared. Last abdominal sternitemoderately shiny, not dull. Length 5.5-6.5 mm.
