General Description

 On Potato Sucrose Agar (PSA). Colonies. After 4 days growth varies from 5.75-6.5 cm diam. with a mean ñ SD = 6.09 ñ 0.28; aerial mycelium floccose, white to greyish orange, pigmentation light brown. On Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Colonies. After 10 days growth varies from 8.5 -9.45 cm length with a mean ñ SD = 8.89 ñ 0.34; aerial mycelium white with brownish orange and pigmentation brown; mycelium forming globose, smooth "chlamydospores" sparsely, in chains or clumps. Conidia. Of only one type; macroconidia stout, curved, short, 14-27 × 5-6.5 μm, 3- to 5-septate, each with a short beaked apical cell, and a short foot-shaped basal cell (with a well-marked heel) basal cell; microconidia absent. Teleomorph. Not known. Notes. This fungus grows on Glycerol Nitrate Agar (G25N) with growth exceeding 2 cm diam., producing orange aerial mycelium, and golden yellow or brownish yellow pigmentation; growth on mannitol medium results in yellow or yellowish white mycelium and reddish yellow or yellowish orange or yellow pigmentation; growth on Czapek-Dox Iprodione Dichloran Agar (CZID) results in white or yellow aerial mycelium and yellow or yellowish brown or grayish yellow pigmentation.
