Diagnostic Description

Diagnostic

"Bright, shining, metallic green, blue or violet, lower surface and antennae darker. Body devoid of hair or setae above and beneath. Oval, not very convex, slender legs. Front tibia armed with three strong teeth, occupying less than half the outer edge, remainder of the edge strongly serrate, front edge of front femur hollowed with a tooth two-third its length from base. Middle tibia scarcely, hind tibia distinctly serrate. Head slightly rugose, asperately punctured in front, smooth deeply punctured behind. Clypeus with four blunt teeth, ocular lobes slightly prominent. Pronotum very short, convex, smooth, unevenly, very strongly but fairly sparsely punctured, hollowed very slightly rugose in the front angles. Elytra show at the base the beginnings of deep sulci which, shortly behind the base resolve themselves into series of very large and partly confluent pits, second interval from suture very broad showing very large transverse depressions. Lateral margins very deeply excised. Sides of abdomen not sharply carinate at the base. Pygidium has a longitudinal median carina and is little hollowed on each side and rather rugosely punctured. In male, the spur of front tibia is flat, truncate at end and rather strongly bent downwards and in female the front tibia is slender and acute."
