A small Afrixalus (males 21–23 mm) from the open grasslands in the Udzungwas. Dorsum light with a pair of parallel dark dorsolateral lines from behind the eye to the groin where they merge into the dark lateral bands. No dark occipital patch (headspot). Dorsal asperities minute, weak or absent. Voice a buzzing.
