Diagnosis. Male: Moderate sized, ca.16–18 mm from the tip of mandible to the apex of abdomen. Body including legs and antennae entirely black; elytral maculae yellowish brown. Elytra with M1 semicircular bow or crescent shaped along basal margin, sometimes connected to M1L; M2 and M3 transverse with a slight slant; M4 very small, transverse band or triangular. Head and around pronotum moderately furnished with long erect fine pale yellow pubescence; ventral surface moderately clothed with yellowish brown hairs.
Penultimate segment of maxillary palpi same as long as a half of apical segment. Antennae reaching apical 1/6 of elytra; relative length of segments as 3rd=5th>4th. Pronotum same as long as basal width, moderately convex; sides slightly inflated near apical third, then constricted near middle; disk moderately provided with small punctures with a rudimental median longitudinal unpunctured line near base. Hind tibiae (Figures 19-a, b) rather slender but similar with that of L. taranan, thickened apicad from apical 2/5, very slightly warped outside from middle to apex, with a fine distinct inside carina.
Male genitalia (Figure 14): Each lateral lobe elongate; inner side widely incised medially with basal and apical swellings, ca. 7–8 times as long as basal wide, provided with a few apical setae at apical outer corner. Median lobe slightly convergent apicad from base to apical third, then slightly widened apicad in dorsal view; apex of ventral plate sharply pointed; median struts shorter than a half of whole length of the lobe with connate base. Eighth abdominal tergite with apical margin more or less emarginate medially.
Female. Generally larger than male, 16.5–21.5 mm (n=14) from the tip of mandible to the apex of abdomen. Body dark brown; antennae dark brown in basal 4 segments and remainder black; legs reddish brown except for front femora, which is darkened; head and pronotum dark brown; elytra usually black with yellowish brown maculae which are similar to the male.
Pubescence on head, around pronotum and ventral surface pale yellow, moderately mixing with long, feeble flying hairs on head and pronotum.
Penultimate segment of maxillary palpi shorter than a half of apical segment. Pronotum moderately convex; disk moderately provided with small sized punctures with distinct or indistinct median longitudinal line; apical margin of basal depression irregularly provided with several large punctures. Elytra 2.3 times as long as humeral width; apex rather narrow, obliquely emarginated with distinct outer spine. Hind femora slenderer than that of L. taranan in dorsal view.
