This species is known only from around six localities in southeastern Peru through northwest Bolivia. The localities include the type locality the Aceramarca River (tributary of the Unduavi River in Yungas) in La Paz, Bolivia (Gardner, 2005). It has an altitudinal range of 2,600 to 3,290 m (Salazar et al., 2002).
