Macrohabitat: Lowlands to midlands, subalpine, and alpine zones, sea level- 914 meters altitude, in coniferous forests, forest clearings, or on moraine. Microhabitat: Shaded, rather moist ground. Dispersal abilites: Brachypterous, hence flightess thus vagility limited to walking or running. Seasonal occurrence: Adults have been found in April-October; teneral adults in May-July. Behavior: Adults are nocturnal, taking cover in the day; they are predaceous on snails. Larvae hibernate. (Erwin, 2001; Gidaspow, 1973; Larochelle & Lariviere, 2003; Data from NMNH collection)
