Ecosystem Roles
Great white sharks are apex predators, meaning they have a large affect on the populations of their prey including Mirounga and Otariidae. Great white sharks are hosts to parasites such as copepods (Pandarus sinuatus and Pandarus smithii). (Martins and Knickle, 2009)
