Nests on tropical mainland beaches and on islands, normally at night. The nesting process takes approximately 1.5 hours. The female lays around 6 clutches in a reproductive season, each with about 81 eggs. Hatchlings are from 56-63 mm carapace length when they emerge. A female nests every 2 or more years. In the Atlantic, nesting takes place from April to November.
