Shrimp highly mobile occurring in swarms reaching densities of about 2500 ind./m2 on active chimney walls where temperatures range from 10-30°C. Primary consumer, eating bacteria ?cultivated? on the mouthparts, and on the mineral particles ingested. Very few ovigerous females collected, between August and November.
