Cells solitary, lorica barrel-shaped, constructed of broad costal strips and with E-joins; minute spines may be present; 10-12 longitudinal costae; transverse costae 2-3; pedicel compound, typically consisting of 4 diverging costal strips; marine; mostly warm water; similar to Cosmoeca Thomsen, but differs in costal strip morphology.
