Maximum longevity: 35.5 years (captivity)
Observations: One specimen lived 35.5 years in captivity. Assuming it was received as an adult, it could have lived to the age of 37 or even more because its exact date of death is unknown. A hybrid between a brown and a black lemur reportedly lived 39.3 years (Richard Weigl 2005).
