is widespread in the Indo-Pacific. It is common and can achieve high abundances in parts of its range. It is a targeted fish species in most of its distribution. There have been signs of catch declines - however, with no corresponding effort data population declines cannot be easily quantified. There is no clear trend of population declines. It is found in a number of well-managed protected areas and has shown positive responses to protection. It is therefore listed as Least Concern. We recommend continued monitoring of the harvest levels and population status of this species.
