EU 27 regional assessment: Data Deficient (DD)
Barbarea conferta is assessed as Data Deficient as there is currently insufficient information available to evaluate this species. It was classified as Rare in the list of rare, threatened and endemic plants in Europe (1982 edition) (Council of Europe 1983) and the 1997 IUCN Red List of Threatened Plants (Walter and Gillett 1998), which means it was considered to be at risk almost 30 years ago; however, the validity of this species has been questioned. Further research is needed to confirm the validity of this species. If it is considered a valid taxon, information is needed on its exact distribution and habitat type, the population size and trend, potential threats, and its in situ and ex situ conservation status.
